Agile EDU: 2nd year update
The 2nd version of the Literature review is out
Our partners at the University of Oslo and the Agile EDU Scientific Advisory Board members have updated the literature review "Datafication in and of education". The newer version considers continuous discussions with the project partners, focusing more on addressing different country contexts and clarifying specific (e.g. small data), or interrelated concepts (e.g. data literacy, platformisation). Additionally, there is a more in-depth explanation on the link between AI and data. The 2nd version of the literature review aims to further clarify the project framework and therefore continues to guide the final work on the case studies.
Peer-learning through working on case studies
In September-October 2024, partners were put into pairs to exchange views and experiences about their case studies, focusing on aspects that are relevant to their own country context. In November 2024, the peer learning pairs discussed challenges, exchanged feedback and shared what they learned from this exercise that they can use to further develop their cases. Following up on the case study updates, another peer-learning activity will take place in March 2025 at a face-to-face project meeting in groups. This way, partners will have the chance to discuss potential policy recommendations coming from the latest version of case studies.
Country Dialogue Labs 2 & 3 – bringing education authorities, school leaders, and teachers together
The one-day online and onsite workshops brought together local authorities, school leaders, teachers to discuss the use of educational data in each partner country. At these sessions, participants identified common challenges, such as, the lack of research and professional development on using data in teaching and learning, as well as the ethical and security concerns of sharing data. Recent topics, for instance, the debate over screentime at schools and the role of AI in the use of data have also come up. In some cases, the same participants attended all three dialogue labs, which also created a sense of community and shared interests. The outcomes of these exchanges will feed into the Country Dialogue Lab report and the case studies and learning stories and the project's final policy recommendations.
