What is a responsible use of data in education?
Juliette Norrmen-Smith explains that for responsible and purposeful uses of learning data, it is necessary that the industry works together with actors in local governments to contextualise their digital education solutions.
Juliette Norrmen-Smith works at UNESCO's Division of Education Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems, she works to strengthen the programme on digital transformation, including in policies, planning, and in regional and country level activities. She coordinates the work of the UNESCO-chaired Working Group on "Data for Learning" of the Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development. Additional areas of work at UNESCO include the Happy Schools Initiative, the Global Education Coalition, the G20 Education Working Group, and the Digital Transformation Collaborative.
